You don't even need to configure RecentX -- there's no need to feed it your "favorite" files and folders, just install the app and go about your business. RecentX automatically tracks and lists items which are frequently accessed, created, and modified, enabling it to learn which items are most important to you, and hiding everything else. Need to find something? Just start typing, and RecentX will present you with matching items AS YOU TYPE, and will quietly hide itself when you open your selected file, folder, or application!
